Yet another Blog of one man's fascination with the Napoleonic period in 10mm, 15mm and 28mm figures. I also dabble in Imaginations and other periods. Here I will post pictures of my painted miniatures and whatever random thoughts may occur as I paint, base and game. Enjoy!

10mm, 15/18mm and 1/72 contrast
While pondering how small but detailed the 10mm troops are I decided to compare them with the others I painted over the last 5 years. I noticed how my basing style has changed also from when I painted the 1/72 Italeri lancers.
Wow, I wouldn't have thought the size of the figures jumped so much from 10mm - 15/18mm. I've done 1/72nd in the past, and they are quite small next to 28mm - I suppose about the same jump in size as the previous scales. Fine painting on all your figures; very impressed what you can do on those 10mm figures. Dean
Thanks for the kind comments DeanM. I've never painted 28mm before but clearly its another step up from 1/72. My only gripe with the 10mm figures is that I would have liked the lances to vertical and would have given the unit a disticntive look from a distance.
The magister-militum lancers have this pose so I will obtain a few packs of them when i start building the line cavalry.
Wow there really is a lot of difference between the 15mm and the 1/72nd, I really did not think that 2-5mm would be that much of a diff... But what do I know..
It was the Artillery that really shocked me recently. I have been sorting out all the 1/72 scale Naps my brother, nephew and I collected over the years ready to sell on ebay and the British/French Esci artillery just look enourmous!!! I must have been doing 15mm for far too long. Great blog Ken (you have got me buying AB French now!!!)
It's only recently I've been able to afford the metals - the 1/72 were great for building up an army cheaply but the paint flaking off bayonets, swords finally got to me.
Thats right blame me! So what are you painting up at the moment? :-) Cheers
