British 9lb Foot Artillery

Completed the AB 9lb foot battery, I reverted to static grass with only the odd tuft of grass here and there. They were quite easy to paint with the exception of the brown leather strap running along one of the cross-belts (I wonder why and what it is exactly?). January was quite a productive month, I doubt if I can match it for output over the next few months. Next in line are those prussian hussars, 2 x young guard trailleurs battalions and 2 x british guard battalions.

WIP British Artillery

Although I really should finish my Prussian hussars I decided to paint up some British foot artillery, suppose its in keeping with the theme of this months previous output though. I sprayed the figures with Vallejo black primer but I've also gotten some Vallejo primer from a bottle. The cannons as you can see from the photos were primed this way and any places on the artillerymen where the spray has missed can be mopped up this way. Most of the photos were by Sarah again and she's started painting again as well - you can see her painting a metal lady we obtained from Vapnartak last year. I bought her some 1/72 plastic pioneers and pilgrims which you can see she has done quite well.

71st Glasgow Highland

AB figures but the flags are by Fighting15s. The pattern on the shakos was a devil to do and I'm not satisfied with the results but I'm not redoing them.Pictures were taken by my daughter Sarah!

52nd Oxfordshire

This regiment had over a thousand men at Waterloo making it the strongest line regiment. Same details as last post, these are AB light infantry figures marching at trail and the flags are by GMB (although this time I have actually used the correct flags!) I've just got one more British unit to do, these are the 71st Highland light infantry.

51st Yorkshire West Riding

These are AB figures and the flag is by GMB, the eagle-eyed will spot that the flag is in fact for the 69th South Lincolnshire but this is a duplicate set so thought I'd best use them! The white lace on these light infantrymen took ages and I'm not too happy with how the wings turned out but there it is.

44th East Essex

These are AB  figures in the marching pose, flags by GMB. I had to swap the flag bearers over as I had gotten the Kings colour and the regimental colour mixed up. The horrible looking white stuff on the command base is just PVA glue sticking down some wheat.

1st Royal Scots

This is the first of five British battalions to be completed. The figures are Old Glory and the flags are by GMB. Nothing much to comment on apart from the fact I think I may have gotten the positions of the flags the wrong way around. I just read that the Kings colour (Union Jack) goes on the right handside. Next will be the 44th East Essex

WIP - British Infantry

Here is my first post of 2012 and shows some work in progress on three battalions of light infantry and two line battalions. The light regiments are the 51st, 52nd and the 71st, the 71st should be quite distrinctive as they had the special highland border around the shako. These are AB figures.

The line regiments (not yet painted red) will be the 1st Royal Scots and the 44th East Essex, these are AB and Old Glory.
