These are the old glory road march figures again, this time painted with green facings making them appropriate for IR 9, 10, 13, 26, 28 and 54. The Austrians did have a lot of pretty facing colours! see this link.... Again, I replaced the flag poles with metal spears and the flags are by Maverick Models.
They look great Ken,

Another great unit!
ReplyDeleteExcellent. I find the Old Glory figures paint up well (I'm in the midst of painting up a pack of British Light Dragoons). Replacing the flagpole is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteNice work! I have painted hundreds of the OG march attack Austrians. Good figures but many of mine tended to have extra metal between the body and the free-swinging hand. Has that been corrected over the last 20 years?
ReplyDeleteJacko, thanks for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteChasseur, again I keep cranking them out! Lets see how long my mojo lasts this time!
ReplyDeleteSun of York, the Old Glory flag poles are a bit hit and miss and varies from pack to pack, sometimes too short.
ReplyDeleteJonathan, yes the bit of metal is still there I chipped most of them away with a pair of small wire cutters. The BlueMoon Russian grenadiers had a similar problem with metal bridging the swinging hand and the cartridge box.
ReplyDeleteFantastic painted unit!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
Cheers Peter!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Ken. I must OG really are great looking figure - at least the way your paint them up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean, OG can sometimes be a mixed blessing but these Austrian are find to paint up.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, I find this Nap period' Austrian army really impressive, and you did something fantastic with them...great photos as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil, I'll try to keep the pot on the boil as it were!
ReplyDeleteNice, I've hankered after an Austrian Army for a while now and this is inspiring stuff.
ReplyDeleteHi SRD(H),
ReplyDeleteI'm glad my little army has helped.
Cheers
Ken
