Just completed these guys in record time, the blue coats were easy to paint as where the crossbelts. You may notice a French line horse battery lurking among the foot. The first picture is a shot of the back of my head (thanks to my daughter Sarah) and you can just see me clutching a lollipop stick of figures. The batteries are mainly 6lb's but two are howitzers and two are 12lb(the 12lbs are seen in the last two photos).
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely, what colour do you use on your barrels? I'm having bother with my bronze and gold from Games workshop and am looking for an alternative.
cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
ReplyDeleteI paint the the barrel dark brown and dry brush with a mix Vallejo Gold and Bronze in equal parts.
Then add a black wash and after matt varnish apply gloss to barrel.
Cheers
Ken
Hi Ken,
ReplyDeleteGood tips, I didn't even think of using dark brown as an undercoat, gold and bronze always look good on dark brown too and a gloss varnish. I'll have to try these out.
Thanks
Paul
