British 9lb Foot Artillery

Completed the AB 9lb foot battery, I reverted to static grass with only the odd tuft of grass here and there. They were quite easy to paint with the exception of the brown leather strap running along one of the cross-belts (I wonder why and what it is exactly?). January was quite a productive month, I doubt if I can match it for output over the next few months. Next in line are those prussian hussars, 2 x young guard trailleurs battalions and 2 x british guard battalions.

  1. I never knew about the brown stripe on the belt? I probably would have missed it out (bad boy!!)

  2. Very nice work Ken. I think the strap on the belt was a cord that was attached to a powder horn. The horn usually sat just above the cartridge box.

  3. Ahh, thanks Rodger. I did notice an object sitting on top of the cartridge box but hadn't a clue what it was. Yes, it looks like a powder horn.

  5. Hi Ken,
I must have been stuck at work when you posted these.

They are great, I think the gunners are some of your best work. Top fine detail. Are you trying out different technique on the faces?

    Nice tan for spain.

  6. these boys have spent two weeks at Benidorm on R&R.

    :-)

May have over done the skin wash a bit, but yes its a bit different for me. Painted the skin vallejo dark flesh and then skin wash, painted noses and cheeks with same dark flesh.

    Cheers
