More prussians & dragoons

After the game at Ayton I will complete the Prussian brigade the kids started and some AB french dragoons.
I cleaned up some OG landwehr to complete the brigade and these need to be spray primed with GW chaos black. Although I like the GW primer because it has a bit of a sheen and therefore a bit easier to make out the fine details I think it is less effective than the vallejo primer at sticking to the metal.

  1. Hi Ken,
You really get stuck into your units in a big way!! I really need to start spaying my undercoat. I am not keen on a gloss base coat so I will have to find a matt alternative.

The AB dragoons are just crying out to be painted. I regret not having any AB French dragoons. I have 2 cuirassier regiments to do though!.

Look forward to seeing them all painted up.
    Cheers

  3. Hi - I'm also impressed with the scale of your production line especially as I usually only paint 3 figures at a time (probably why my armies are so small). Looking forward to seeing them finished!

  4. Hi Ian,

I about 4 box files almost filled with the 15mm French and Prussians. My plan is to recreate the 100 days campaign starting with Ligny.

After that I'll make a Russian army for Germany 1813 and France 1814. These will match up with the already painted prussians.

I've kept clear of Austrian forces, although they were the biggest enemy of the French. A pity perhaps but I can afford to do only so much. I did try painting some 1/72 Esci plastics.

  5. Your doing great Ken!!!
In the short space of time since you started your armies you have painted a lot to a very nice standard. Great to see you are planning Russians too. I thought about Austrians myself but Prussians can be 1812-15 and the Russians can be 1812-14 plus the Russian uniforms rock!!! What figures will you be using for your Russians?

  7. Hi RazorOne,

Thats very kind of you to do so! I do hope people enjoy viewing my blog.

Just got back from the Ayton game - what a fantastic experience! We set up the tables on Friday night and had a few separate mini-games on the saturday and today we had had a huge slugfest with 12 of ous playing. I'm pleased to report that the enemy sued for peace after a very hard fought battle.

A big thank you to Henry of BattleGames for acting as umpire and guiding us through it all (we were trying Henry's new ruleset). Mr Peeler did a spendid job of hosting the game at Ayton village hall. Well done to all.

    Cheers

    Ken
