I'm part way through some Prussian command figures, part AB part Fantassin. Perhaps these will be next. The kids were supposed to be helping me paint some Prussian infantry. Sarah managed to paint two sticks of grey trousers before getting bored and Ken junior just couldn't get started. I'm paying them 50p a stick (eight figures on a stick) to do the trousers and blue coats. Slave labour?
Yet another Blog of one man's fascination with the Napoleonic period in 10mm, 15mm and 28mm figures. I also dabble in Imaginations and other periods. Here I will post pictures of my painted miniatures and whatever random thoughts may occur as I paint, base and game. Enjoy!

!st and 2nd Regiments of Cuirassiers
Just completed these AB figures, I think they look nice. Unlike other brands of figures, these have decent sized swords which makes a world of difference I think. I've put 12 riders in a regiment but these can always be doubled up for Gen de Brigade type rulesets. The only thing I'm not sure about is the cloak mounted on top of the portmanteaux, some people have painted the entire cloak in the regimental facing colour but I did notice a historix cuirassier kit with just a bit in the middle showing the coloured lining - anyway thats the look I eventually went for.

Cuirassier Command Bases
For a bit more light relief on the painting front I've completed some heavy cavalry command bases. The large base represents a corps commander such Kellerman or Milhaud. The actual figure is of Nansouty or d'Hautpoul. The other base is of a divisional general along with his ADC. All they need now are some cuirassiers to command. These are sitting already primed and awaiting some paint.

Marshal Davout command base
Here is my first infantry Corps command base - the bald eagle himself, even if I did make look a bit like Harry Potter. These are AB figures and I'd thought I'd give it a special touch with a broken lance.

30th Foot (Cambridgeshire)
My GMB flags finally arrived and so able to complete my 30th foot. These are AB figures and are very good, however I do think the flag poles are a bit short. The pose is to blame as the bottom of the pole is touching the ground and not slotted into the carrying bit (whatever it is called) attached to the crossbelt. Even the flags made specifically for AB struggle with one of the poses. So the GMB flags needed quite a bit of triming. I do think they look nice as they are textured with fake folds in the cloth.

Old Marshal Blucher
While waiting for my GMB flags I decided to paint up Old Marshal Forwards. Hope you like him. Again, AB figures - I added some lancers as his personal escort. Black horses are a pain to paint, hard to pick out deatil - I used dark grey for hightlights but I dont think it worked.

Advice needed on Prussian Flags (1815)
I've gotten some Prussian AB flags (1808-1815) and need to identify where the Avancier(liebfahne) flag ought to go.
As you can see from the photo there are 4 flags per regiment, one identical flag for each of the three battalions and one Avancier(liebfahne) flag. Did the Avancier(liebfahne) go with the first battalion or have I gotten the wrong idea? I.e. wouldthe 1st battalion have two flags?
