1/4th Tirailleurs

Here is the 1st battalion of the 4th Tirailleurs and I've put them together with their 2nd battalion and the 3rd Regiment. These painted up very nicely although I missed the buttons on the soldiers coats and the white piping on the front which I can never do. The officer on horseback is General Delaborde, one of the Young Guard Divisional commanders - all figures are AB's.

    Thanks Phil, 15mm is pretty good for that plus you still get the effect of seeing the uniforms. BTW I was looking at the pictures and just realized I had the fanion upside down!

    Thanks Paul! I'm just wondering about the four battalions of Young Guard Voltigers - I can't afford to do these with AB's so will probably use Old Glory.

    Yeah I know what you mean Ken, most of the AB figures I have bought I got in job lots at ok prices. The young guard always seem to go to high. Ours voltigeurs of the guard are OG and they are nice figures.

    Just painting French at the moment myself as a wee break from prussians

    Yeah, I also have a load of OG 1815 march attack elites(with plumes). I'm wondering if they could double up as Young Guard, they just have the trousers and not the gaiters.

    Very nice! I actually considered making a third battalion of light infantry by converting the AB Young Guard skirmishers a while back. I decided not to though! Again, nice work.

    Lovely Young Guard Ken. I really like the uniforms of the tiralleurs and voltigeurs; and there were so many of them, especially in 1813-15!
